Rip can give O’Brien sixth success in Champion

BANK on Rip Van Winkle to give Aidan O’Brien a sixth Tattersalls Irish Champion Stakes win at Leopardstown today.

The classy four-year-old, a dual Group 1 winner over a mile last season, showed his liking for ten furlongs when catching Twice Over and Byword close home in the recent Juddmonte International at York last time.

And, with a strong pace guaranteed in today’s feature, the Galileo colt must be strongly fancied to become the fourth successful odds-on favourite in a row to land Ireland’s premier all-age, middle-distance prize.
