Beauty looks good in Challenge

PROFOUND BEAUTY can get back on the winning trail in the Listed Challenge Stakes at Leopardstown tonight.

A high-class mare and a fine money-spinner for Dermot Weld, she met defeat on unsuitably quick conditions at the Curragh last time.

The six-year-old travelled beautifully through that contest, but wouldn't let herself down in the closing stages and was beaten two lengths into second by John Dunlop's Tactic.

Prior to that, the selection beat the subsequent Ascot Gold Cup runner-up, Age Of Aquarius, by half a length on this track.

Profound Beauty's most interesting opponent is Pointilliste, having a first outing for Noel Meade.

He was a more than useful stayer in France for Ellie Lellouche and it will be worth noting his travels in the market.

Weld can also take the Foxrock Maiden with Lake Worth. Beaten a length by Blaze Brightly at Listowel, he's ordinary, but perhaps good enough to win this modest event.

The Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes can fall to Together, a snug length winner over Puttore at Leopardstown last month.

At Killarney this afternoon, Ballyadam Brook is the nap choice in the John O'Connell Memorial Novice Hurdle.

He ran his rivals ragged when scoring by ten lengths at Sligo and is fancied to have the legs on Rayhani.

That rival landed some decent wagers when winning hard held at Limerick, but Ballyadam Brook may handle the rain-softened surface better than him.

Hildor, who has hit the bar more than once, can finally enjoy a turn in the Dawn Omega Milk Maiden.

She appeared to be all at sea on the track when failing to reel in Table Forty Six over nine furlongs at Ballinrobe and, as a son of Pivotal, the ground should not be a worry.
