Back on song Kitty Kiernan looks set to follow up
The daughter of Pivotal looked a possible star of the future when making a winning debut at Naas in May of last year, slamming the subsequent Royal Ascot heroine, Lillie Langtry, to the tune of two and a half lengths.
The selection then lost her way a little in three other outings as a juvenile and her first run of this campaign wasn’t very encouraging either.
But Kitty Kiernan was right back on track at Naas on her latest appearance and may now be more than ready to fulfil earlier promise!
There was a lot to like about that Naas performance, over seven furlongs, as she bounced off in front and found plenty to beat Emulous.
Similar tactics can see her coping with English challenger, Sent From Heaven, a close fourth behind Special Duty in the English 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, but disappointing when only ninth to Llllie Langtry in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot last time.
The frustrating Dance On By tries again in the Jamestown Park Maiden. She will have her supporters, but found little when beaten half a length by Dermot Weld’s newcomer, Stroke Of Love, at Down Royal and is passed over.
Preference is for John Oxx’s once-raced Sindiyma, who hasn’t been seen since taking third to White Front and Buy Back Bob at Navan in October. She has quite obviously been slow to come to hand and, hopefully, the market will speak in her favour.
The opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Median Auction Maiden can fall to Joe Murphy’s Isis Song.
This is a weak contest and she is down in class, having taken seventh behind Seeharn and Wild Wind – both scored at the Curragh at the weekend – at headquarters earlier in the month.
