Sariska swerves Pretty Polly run
The Newmarket trainer is hoping for easier conditions at Sandown on Saturday week so he can run last year’s dual Oaks winner in the Coral-Eclipse.
“As of this morning, we have knocked the Pretty Polly on the head,” said Bell.
“I’ve spoken to the clerk of the course this morning and there’s absolutely no rain forecast. He’s been watering as hard as he can but given the temperatures over there, there’s every chance the ground won’t be any easier than good to firm.
“She’s had a couple of races on good to firm this year already and we are keen not to go the well on that ground too often with her, bearing in mind her autumn targets.
“She’s in the Eclipse on Saturday week and I think we’ll just monitor the situation with the ground and take a view on that nearer the time.
“She’s in great form and we are just keen to avoid going to the well too often on firm ground.
“The Arc and then the Breeders’ Cup Fillies & Mares Turf (are options). There is plenty to look forward to in the autumn,” Bell told At The Races.
