Curragh return for Glory
Aidan O’Brien’s Montjeu colt chased home wonder-horse Sea The Stars on more than one occasion last year, but could be in for an exciting four-year-old campaign with that horse now packed off to stud.
Joining Fame And Glory at the Curragh on Sunday could be Alfred Nobel, winner of last year’s Group One Phoenix Stakes.
“After this morning’s exercise we hope to run Fame And Glory and Dixie Music in the Listed Alleged Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday,” said the trainer. Johnny Murtagh will hopefully ride Fame And Glory and Alfred Nobel.
“We hope to run Alfred Nobel in the Loughbrown Stakes. Our other entry, Queen Of Troy, will probably run in Dundalk on Friday evening instead in the fillies’ conditions race.
“We will monitor the ground conditions as we get closer to the weekend as we would like to see the ground drying out.”
* The fixture due to be held at Gowran Park today but cancelled yesterday due to waterlogging, will now take place on Wednesday, April 14, first race 2.55pm.
Fresh entries will close by 12 noon on Thursday, April 8 with declarations to run to be made by 10am on Tuesday, April 13.
