Voy Por Ustedes seeks Lexus glory

ALAN KING has confirmed former Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Voy Por Ustedes will run in the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on Monday.

The eight-year-old had finished third in the King George VI Chase, just over eight lengths behind Kauto Star, on his only other start over three miles last season.

Although he finished third behind Albertas Run on his reappearance this term, King expects him to improve for that Ascot outing.

“With the thaw supposedly on its way we are off to Ireland,” said King yesterday.

“Voy Por Ustedes is in cracking form, and he would have finished much closer to Albertas Run at Ascot had he jumped better.

“He always needs his first race to blow away the cobwebs so I was not too worried and he has been in great form at home since.

“We think that he has a big chance,” said the Barbury Castle handler.
