Kranky the percentage bet
Eddie Wade’s tracker was one of the stars of the opening rounds, making all in 28.80 and 28.88.
Kranky O Keeffe lost his 100% record in the stake in last week’s semi-finals, missing the kick from a rails draw when third behind Shaneboy Robby. Likely to trap better from a middle draw tonight, Kranky O Keeffe reads the percentage bet in a highly-competitive final showdown.
Shaneboy Robby emerged as a major player for the 3,700 winner’s prize when making all and digging deep to beat Side Plate and Kranky O Keeffe last week.
This relatively lightly-raced sort has scope for further improvement but could find it harder to dominate from an outside draw.
Side Plate lost little caste in defeat when a half a length runner-up in the semis. Better drawn in trap two tonight, Stephen Bourke’s runner is capable of a big run.
The in-form and well drawn Baby Luke is another to consider.
This improving sort finished with a flourish to record back-to-back 28.90 and 28.91 wins in recent weeks and should again be involved at the business end.
Hisworkislaw, who created a favourable impression when coming from behind to record a clear-cut 30.16 win in the semis, can continue on the upgrade in the A2 550 BG Stakes final.
