NIGEL Twiston-Davies will aim Ballyfitz at Newbury’s Hennessy Gold Cup later this month after his fine fourth-place finish on his seasonal debut at Cheltenham.

The Naunton trainer had been making bullish noises about the nine-year-old mirroring stablemate Imperial Commander 12 months earlier by landing the Paddy Power Gold Cup.

His positive vibes ensured Ballyfitz started as one the market leaders, and despite coming under pressure a fair way from home he boxed on to finish fourth to impressive Irish winner Tranquil Sea.
