Sea the Stars boosts Ireland’s reputation

The John Oxx trained colt became the first horse to complete the 2000 Guineas/Derby/Arc treble while also recorded wins in the Juddmonte International Stakes, the Irish Champion Stakes and the Coral-Eclipse Stakes.

Kavanagh said: “Sea the Stars was born in the Irish national stud, reared there and then moved a mile up the road to John Oxx’s yard.

“Look what was achieved every time he left the stable. He has become the best horse in a generation.

“That was all the strands of the industry in Ireland coming together. In the USA they are bemoaning the fact that the best stallions are standing in Ireland. We have created an Irish success story over the last decade.”
