Listowel ‘unfit for racing’ but forecast favourable

THERE are doubts regarding the big Listowel Festival, which is due to start on Sunday next and run for seven days, right through to the following Saturday.

The track was found to be unfit for racing, following a visit by the senior Turf Club inspector of courses, Val O’Connell.

Turf Club Press Officer, Cliff Noone, said: “They had an inch of rain at Listowel yesterday and the course is currently unfit for racing.
