Mister Tee poised to get off the mark

THE Ger Lyons yard can emerge from a relatively quiet spell by landing the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden with the promising Mister Tee at Gowran Park this evening.

Mister Tee poised to get off the mark

This will be his fifth attempt to get off the mark, but it does seem to represent a very suitable opportunity.

Mister Tee's last effort was his best to date and the son of Danehill Dancer has plenty going for him.

At the Curragh in late June he was beaten a short head into second by the smart Walk on Bye.

Travelling an extra furlong looks all in his favour and he has also got the luck of draw, in stall 13.

Aidan O’Brien’s Purple Heart, third on his debut at Naas nine days ago, can be expected to improve a lot for that and is the obvious worry.

O’Brien’s Empress Of France might be worth a final chance to deliver, in the Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden, if meeting the engagement.

The problem, of course, is that no jockey appears against her name and Johnny Murtagh is down to ride Magic Potion for Charles O’Brien.

A current rating of 90 would entitle her to make short work of these, even though all the evidence of late is that greatly exaggerates her ability.

Presumably, Empress Of France will swerve the test and, if she does, then this is probably a contest to avoid, on the basis you can find fault with the rest!

Feature event is the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes and this is all about which Chinese White strips. She has between 5lbs and 21lbs in hand of all of her rivals.

The daughter of Dalakhani gets the nod, although well capable of throwing in the odd stinker. She does, however, seem to go best fresh, winning first time out as a juvenile and as a three-year-old and reappearing following a 91-day absence.

As well her first run this season, beaten half a length by She’s Our Mark (rec.3lbs) on this track, was far in advance of her second outing.
