Make it Milanette
Colm Murphy’s mare will only be having a third outing and should now be primed to strike, having been given a break since running in a better contest than this in very testing ground at Punchestown in May.
She was beaten eight lengths and three parts of a length into third then behind Charlie Swan’s Last Draw and Willie Mullins’ Definitely Marble.
That wasn’t a bad race, considering Last Draw’s next outing saw him take a 23-runner maiden hurdle in fine style, justifying favouritism, back at Punchestown. Nina Carberry now teams up with the selection for the first time.
Ruby Walsh is a significant booking for Philip Rothwell’s Eyeffess, in the www.wexfordraces.ie Maiden Hurdle, and the combination are fancied to do the business.
Eyeffess stepped up on previous efforts when second to Orpen Guama in a competitive handicap at Killarney and this is a lot easier.
Dermot Weld’s Reflected Image might be the solution to the Clonard Maiden. She was a close sixth behind Clodova in a moderate heat at Leopardstown last week, but will surely benefit from stepping up two furlongs plus in trip!
Lus Na Hoiche, successful at Ballinrobe on Monday evening, could shrug off a 5lbs penalty in the Belmont Handicap.
