Cashmans continue Laurels sponsorship

The Cashmans Bookmakers Irish Laurels will be run at Curraheen between September 18 and October 17.
Meanwhile, English Derby third Wise Thought will not now be contesting the Boylesports.com International at Dundalk but is being prepared specifically for the Paddypower.com Irish Derby at Shelbourne Park.
Newry-born Martin White brought the dog over from England last Friday week for a trial and he flew around the track in a sensational 28.28. Then on Saturday night he came back again to win the Derby Trial Stake at Shelbourne in a very fast 29.54.
But White has now decided against the Dundalk race, mainly because of the amount of travelling involved for the dog. "
The new plan will see Martin travel over and back to Shelbourne for each round of the Derby but, in the event of his qualifying for the final stages, he might opt to stay over at that stage.
Wise Thought’s defection from the Boylesports International on Sunday week means English Derby winner Kinda Ready and fellow finalist Ballymac Ruso will be the UK challengers. The Irish runners will be finalised after Shelbourne Aston and Skywalker Queen are trialled around the track on Monday evening. This pair, along with College Causeway and Accordello, are other possible runners, while last weekend’s Lynch Family Race of Champions winner Cash Dream has also been entered.
The Dundalk meeting will be the second part of a special Dual Race Day at Dundalk’s unique stadium. There will be a seven-race horse programme commencing at 2.45pm and this will be followed at 7.45 with the first race of the top-class greyhound meeting.
