Lyons hopeful about Rain Delayed
“He won well at Down Royal but this is a huge step up with a Group Three winner (Triple Aspect) in the field,” said Lyons.
“He’s a very genuine horse and does exactly what it says on the tin but he has to step up tomorrow. If he gets placed that would be grand and this race will tell us if he is up to this standard.
“The main attraction of the race was that the owner, who has been a supporter of mine for a long time, lives local to the track so it is nice to be able to repay her with a runner to give her a nice day out.
“Whether he is good enough only time will tell but in my opinion for him to be involved he needs to improve another seven to 10 pounds.”
