Rayeni season hinges on ground

PLANS for Rayeni will be geared around his preferred soft going following his fine effort in the Boylesports.com Irish 2000 Guineas.

The Aga Khan-owned colt put up a highly-creditable display on his first outing in Group One company when clear second best behind impressive winner Mastercraftsman in Saturday’s Curragh Classic, run on heavy ground.

“He’s come out of the race fine. He’s 100%, there are no problems with him,” said trainer John Oxx.

“There are no plans just yet. It depends on the weather, because he needs it soft.”
