Miami’s back straight surge decisive in Classic

THE final of the Mike Cronin Readymix unraced Juvenile Classic at Tralee last night was expected to go to Tarbert trainer Pat O’Connor who had three runners in the final, including 2/1 favourite Christmas Box, but instead it went across the Shannon to Milltown Malbay when Paradise Miami, owned and trained by Sean Meade, took the prize.

Miami’s back straight surge  decisive in Classic

The race was decided midway down the back straight when Paradise Miami swept past the early leader Shade of Satawya and settled the issue in a matter of strides. Christmas Box tried to close the gap but Paradise Miami stayed on well to win by two lengths in 28.60.

Droopys Laramie took the consolation final for Sean Dunphy and John Saunders in a very quick 28.63.
