Nicky Henderson has had the race as a target for last year’s Punchestown Champion Hurdle winner Punjabi for some time and stated earlier in the week he was keen to support the decision to switch the race to Wetherby from Newcastle.

His stable jockey Barry Geraghty is due to travel north for the ride.
