Cooper keen on Plasterer’s prospects in Drinmore
The Grade One-winning novice hurdler made a pleasing debut over fences when winning at Punchestown four weeks ago.
He now goes to the top level in an intriguing two-and-a-half-mile contest that has attracted nine entries at the confirmation stage.
“He’s done very well and everything’s gone according to plan,” said the Tralee trainer.
“The step up to two and a half miles should be a help. The ground will probably be on the slow side, big time, but there’s nothing we can do about that.
“He’s been working very well and we’re very happy with him. He won’t be out of place in this race.”
Noel Meade has left in the exciting Aran Concerto and Casey Jones while Eamon Sheehy’s Trafford Lad and Edward O’Grady’s Tranquil Sea are other classy possibles. A quality list is completed by Ballyholland, Golden Silver, Northern Alliance and Rare Bob.
Noel Meade reports Aran Concerto to have come out of his chasing debut success in A1 condition.
“Aran Concerto has done well since his last run and is in good form,” said Meade. The seven-year-old is twice a Grade One winner over hurdles and is the 9-4 market leader with Coral.
