Newbury next for Pettifour

Nigel Twiston-Davies is eyeing all the top staying events for Pettifour following his game success in the Grade Two John Smith’s Hurdle at Wetherby on Saturday.

The six-year-old took his unbeaten record over obstacles to six when getting the better of Mobaasher.

“I was delighted with Pettifour and he is now proving to be the horse we thought he was,” said the trainer.

“He will probably go to Newbury next for the Long Distance Hurdle (November 29) and then to Ascot for the Long Walk Hurdle (December 20).”
