Cork All Star can finally get it together

THE rather frustrating Cork All Star is fancied to finally put it together and land the Grade 3 Anglo Irish Bank Hurdle at Down Royal this afternoon.

Jessica Harrington’s six-year-old, a top-class bumper horse, has been held back over flights by poor technique.

There is always the worry, of course, it will again manifest itself here, but with only three opponents the selection is never going to have a better time to measure his obstacles. You couldn’t say he exactly covered himself in glory either when given a spin on the level at Listowel, but at least that will have been of real benefit, fitness-wise.
