GOWRAN PARK has become the latest track to fall victim to the wet weather enveloping Ireland and today’s meeting has been called off.

Wexford are hopeful of being able to reschedule this weekend’s meetings again next month after tomorrow’s and

Sunday’s cards were lost to waterlogging.

Gowran general manager Margaret Fogarty explained: “The rain has been absolutely belting down for the last three hours so we are waterlogged. The ground was soft already and there was just nowhere for the water to go. We’rehopeful of it being rescheduled and we should find something out within the next 48 hours.”

Naas have no problems at the moment ahead of tomorrow’s meeting featuring the Grade Three Woodlands Park 100 Club Poplar Square Chase.

Ayr’s meeting today has also been abandoned due to waterlogging. Clerk of the course Katherine Self delivered the news following an unsuccessful early-morning inspection.
