LONE British raider Muhannak, ridden by Pat Smullen, landed the listed Diamond Stakes at Dundalk last night.

The Ralph Beckett-trained three-year-old displayed a stubborn streak on the way to the start, necessitating Smullen to dismount the son of Chester House and lead him to join his thirteen runners.

But Muhannak displayed commendable battling qualities when it mattered, getting the better of Mr Medici by a neck, with Fiery Lad a short-head away third, after flattering to deceive.
