Patio’s owners trek worthwhile

PATIO continued trainer David Marnane’s superb season when landing the ‘Thanks To Ballinrobe Race Sponsors 2008’ Race at Ballinrobe yesterday.

The easy-to-back favourite (5/4 to 7/4) was sent to the front with less than three furlongs to race before keeping Unquenchable Fire at bay by a length and a half, giving Marnane his 19th winner of the flat season.

Patio, which raced for Amanda Perrett in Britain last season, was sold at the October Sales to race in Dubai where she finished fourth in both the U.A.E. 1,000 Guineas and U.A.E. Oaks before a decision was made to send her back to Europe.
