Hardy annual back for more
The dual Champion Hurdler is now an 11-year-old but ran some fine races last season, winning the Coral Ascot Hurdle as well as finishing second in three Grade One events.
There was talk of possible retirement after he finished down the field in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham on his last outing, but Hughes thinks he is not yet ready to call it a day just yet.
“He has come back in very fresh and he seems to have really enjoyed his summer break,” said Hughes.
“He looks as good as ever at the moment and is very well in himself, so the plan is to run him next season if he continues to please us at home.
“Last year we started him off in the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh and if everything goes to plan between now and then, we will probably run him in that again.”
