Marchand to miss Sprint Cup

FREDDIE Head’s multiple Group One winner Marchand D’Or has been ruled out of the Betfred Sprint Cup on September 6 after suffering a setback.

The five-year-old, won the July Cup at Newmarket before securing his third victory in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville last time.

Although the injury is not serious, it is enough to rule him out of a trip to Haydock and he will now be aimed at the Prix de l’Abbaye at Longchamp in October.
