Glorious chance for Infallible
John Gosden’s filly has held her form superbly this term but will not have a better chance of returning to the winner’s enclosure than in Sussex.
Having produced a vintage display to take the Nell Gwyn on her seasonal bow, Infallible subsequently turned in a string of doughty efforts in Group One company.
Fourth in the 1000 Guineas is obviously solid form, while her second to Lush Lashes in the Coronation Stakes further illustrated her class. It was a similar story in the Falmouth, where she was only worried out of it by Nahoodh at the death.
While her last three efforts have been worthy of high praise, she has been unable to quicken with real authority inside a mile. The suspicion therefore remains her true calling is over a brisk seven furlongs.
The Betfair Cup offers optimum racing conditions for the daughter of Pivotal to rediscover her golden touch.
