Another double for in-form Hayes

CHRIS Hayes continued in superb form at Downpatrick, following-up his Curragh double on Sunday with another brace, on Red Key and Four Corners.

Another double for in-form Hayes

Apprentice champion twice, Hayes is retained jockey for Lady O’Reilly, for whom recorded his Curragh double. He carried the familiar black and white colours to initiate yesterday’s haul, when Red Key landed a touch (5/1 to 7/2) in the Magners Cider Maiden.

Sent to the front with three furlongs to race, the Eddie Lynam-trained filly powered clear up the hill to slam Willie Mullins’ debutante Neveah Sky by twelve lengths, her task being eased by favourite Acclaimed Piper losing plenty of ground at the start and the John Oxx-trained Galiyan being pulled up after little more than two furlongs.
