Solwhitjust toys with the opposition

ARGUABLY the most impressive winner of the three days at Killarney came last night when Charles Byrnes’ Solwhit toyed with the opposition in the Racegoers’ Club Race.

Confidently handled by Seamus Heffernan, the four-year-old, backed from a little 6-4 to evens, cruised into the lead with more than two furlongs to run and only had to be kept up to his work to beat Sivota by three and a half lengths.

Commented Byrnes: “That was impressive, I liked the way he did it. The plan at the moment is for him to go out on grass and come back in the autumn over hurdles.”
