CARRIGEEN KING, a horse with a bright future, is napped to land the second division of the St Margaret’s Maiden Hurdle at Fairyhouse this evening.

Now a seven-year-old, he has been very lightly raced and this will only be his fifth ever race. The selection, a half-brother to the more than useful mare, Carrigeen Kalmia, should be all the better for a recent outing at Thurles.

He was having his first spin for almost four months and produced a performance which was rich in promise.
