CONOR O’DWYER brought the curtain down on a magnificent career when bowing out aboard a winner, Mister Top Notch, at Fairyhouse yesterday.

O’Dwyer was always noted for a splendid sense of timing and it was no surprise he got his retirement spot-on as well.

The 41-year-old enjoyed his first success on Gay Field in a Limerick bumper at Christmas of 1982, but was best known for his exploits at the Cheltenham Festival.
