Attitude looks the answer

GET ATTITUDE, beaten by a market springer at Thurles last month, is the nap choice in the Tetratema Son Of The Tetrarch Maiden Hurdle at Gowran Park this afternoon.

Attitude looks the answer

The selection went off a well-backed favourite on that occasion, but at the same time Faltering Fullback was coming in for inspired support, 14-1 to half those odds.

On the track it was no contest, with Faltering Fullback quickening nicely in the closing stages to beat the favourite by five lengths.

Although outclassed, Got Attitude stuck well to his task and should prove hard to beat now, stepping up another half a mile in trip.

Jessica Harrington, who has her horses in fine shape, trains Got Attitude and can complete a double with Carpenter in the Great Oak Maiden Hurdle.

He’s no great shakes, but did run solidly when sixth to Save The Bacon at Leopardstown last Sunday. They went a proper gallop then and this looks a much weaker race.

Colm Murphy’s Clew Bay Cove has obvious prospects in the Bolands’ Carlow Volvo Handicap Chase.

Beaten two and a half lengths into second by Fivestar Alstars at Naas, there was no shame in that, because he went under to an opponent in good form.

At Naas tomorrow lightly-raced Powerfulpaddy can land the nap in the Irish Racing Writers’ Novice Hurdle.

He made most of the running to beat Shakervilz easily at Punchestown and Shakervilz boosted the form when scoring at Leopardstown subsequently.

The improving Kilcrea Castle is the one to beat in the Kilcock Novice Chase. Pat Doyle’s charge has had rear-views of late of Pomme Tiepy at Leopardstown and Navan and faces nothing of that calibre now.

A massive field is set to face the starter in the Lakleands Maiden Hurdle, but a case can be made for very few of them.

The nod has to fall on Tony Martin’s Elbow High, who made a promising start when fifth to the gambled-on Carrigogunnell at Down Royal.
