Punters caught out by Catch Me flop

THERE was a major shock at Thurles yesterday when 2-11 shot Catch Me trailed in fourth of five behind 25-1 outsider of the field, Sunshine Guest, in the Listed Horse and Jockey Hotel Hurdle.

Catch Me appeared to be going well for much of the journey, but the first signs began to emerge when he started to struggle to keep tabs on front-running Holly Tree approaching the third last.

He fiddled the flight and was gone in matter of strides. His perplexed rider, Andrew McNamara, said: “I have no idea (what went wrong) to be honest with you.”
