Tralee racetrack sold in €40m development deal

TRALEE racetrack at Ballybeggan has been sold off by shareholders, ending over 100 years of horse-racing at the track.

With the dust barely settled on its Rose of Tralee Festival meeting, shareholders have agreed a €40m sale of the racecourse at Ballybeggan Park to a consortium of investors.

The deal is linked to a series of developments in the area, including the possible transfer of Kerry GAA headquarters from Austin Stack Park to the Ballybeggan area.
