JOHN GOSDEN’S Cape Cobra can make some small inroads into his 400,000 guineas price tag with victory in the first division of the Wise Catering Maiden Stakes at Salisbury today.

This Inchinor colt is certainly bred in the purple being a full-brother to Group One-winner Cape Of Good Hope and a half-sibling to Cape Columbine who was placed in a Group Three.

Although it is early days for Cape Cobra, he showed plenty of promise in the hands of Robert Havlin when fourth behind his stable’s first string in a Newmarket maiden.
