Eagle soars again after drop in class

GIANT EAGLE, down in class following respectable efforts at Punchestown and the Curragh, duly did the business in the Bumper at Cork yesterday.

The winner was always racing near the front and trainer Tom Foley’s capable daughter, Adrienne (it was a 30th success for her), sent him on early in the straight to beat Lesoto Diamond comfortably.

The son of Giant’s Causeway cost 420,000 guineas as a yearling and trainer Foley explained how he came to be trained by him.
