O’Brien to run eight in Derby

AIDAN O’BRIEN has decided to run no less than eight in Saturday’s Epsom Derby.

A spokeman for O’Brien confirmed last evening that Ballydoyle intends to launch an unprecedented and concerted attack on the most famous classic of all.

The eight, with riding arrangements, are as follows: Acapulco (Fran Berry), Admiralofthefleet (Seamus Heffernan), Anton Chekhov (Declan McDonogh), Archipenko (Michael Kinane), Eagle Mountain (Johnny Murtagh), Mahler (Pat Smullen), Soldier Of Fortune (Wayne Lordan) and Yellowstone (Colm O’Donoghue.)
