DAVID Ryan, who trains outside Tuam in Co. Galway, took the honours at Down Royal yesterday when recording a double with Mr Big and Foretto.

Mr Big provided amateur Danny Keenan (21) from County Monaghan, with his first racecourse success when landing the four-runner Cemex Hunters Chase, having the measure of odds-on favourite Another Biffo when he fell at the final fence, leaving Ryan’s charge to triumph by 25 lengths.

Ironically it was Robbie McNamara, partner of Another Biffo, who provided Ryan with the second leg of his double, guiding Foretto to a convincing win in the Winged Love flat race.
