Refinement surprise marred by Mighty woe

TONY MCCOY struck for the first time this week when the Michael Tabor-owned Refinement sprang a 16-1 surprise in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa Champion Stayers’ Hurdle at Punchestown yesterday.

“I shouldn’t say it”, quipped McCoy, “but she is a typical woman and obviously has her own ideas.”

Undoubtedly true, but in the end Refinement carried far too may guns for her rivals in an incident-packed contest.
