Drop in trip looks ideal for Irish Invader
Ruby Walsh, following a couple of frustrating days in England, can get back on the winning trail aboard Irish Invader in the Advanced Hospitality Bookings Maiden Hurdle.
Willie Mullins' charge is no star, but certainly capable of landing a race such as this! He has made steady improvement over flights and should now be poised to strike.
The selection ran his best race to date at Naas last month. Irish Invader finished just over six lengths fourth behind Druids Castle, form which is relatively modest.
But he jumped and travelled well through the contest, until his stamina gave way from the final flight. Mullins now drops him down three furlongs in trip, a big help, and two miles round this track appears ideal.
Hows Trix, 3lbs higher for chasing home Old School in a massive field at Navan, is the choice in the Family Fun At Easter Novice Handicap Hurdle.
The Bumper looks moderate and the one to beat is John Fowler's Fruits de Mer, who cut little ice in the hurdle landed by Wins Now at Navan in December. Prior to that, however, the daughter of Presenting was beaten half a length by Culmullen Hall in a Navan bumper and had the subsequent winner, Blackson Zulu, three lengths away in third.
Take Your Mark is fancied to defy top weight in what is a woeful Be The Best Dressed Lady Handicap Hurdle. At least, unlike all his rivals, he's in form, as evidenced by a four lengths success at Naas on Sunday.
