RACING was called off following the second contest at Fairyhouse yesterday, after the stewards decided it was no longer safe to continue.

They received a deputation of senior riders, including Ruby Walsh, Barry Geraghty, Conor O'Dwyer, and Paul Carberry, concerning the deteriorating weather conditions.

Having considered the comments from the riders, the stewards agreed to postpone the running of the third race for 30 minutes. They then inspected the track, with a number of the riders, and decided to cancel the remainder of the card in the interests of safety.
