Waterlogged Gowran called off

TODAY’S meeting at Gowran Park has been cancelled as the course is waterlogged.

Officials held an inspection yesterday morning and had hoped to delay a final decision until this morning, but further rain forced their hand.

“They’ve had a lot of rain down there unfortunately so they brought the inspection forward and found the track waterlogged,” said Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone.

“They had a good drop of rain for three hours and the course could not take any more.

“As it’s not going to be any better in the morning they decided to cancel the meeting rather than wait.”
