Future’s golden chance

IT can be a case of third time lucky for Golden Future in the Equine Warehouse three-year-old Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel this evening.

Future’s golden chance

The Michael Murphy-trained gelding was no great shakes on the flat, but promises to be much better at this game.

He actually finished first on his initial outing over flights at Tramore, but lost the race in the stewards' room, in favour of Haroni, in somewhat controversial circumstances. The selection had his second outing over jumps at Tralee six days ago and produced another decent effort.

He was no match on this occasion for Haroni, but stuck to his task in good style to finish three lengths runner-up.

This is a weak contest, a very good opportunity, and expect Golden Future to make the most of it!

John Oxx runs three in the Rathronan Maiden and one of them, Dolce Dovo, can provide the solution to a decent contest.

She performed solidly when second to Flare Star at Sligo and more recently to Crossing at Gowran Park.

Dolce Dovo, significantly, is the choice of Michael Kinane and her form was boosted when Crossing went on to score at the Curragh.

Dermot Weld's Rising Force is clearly no star, but capable of a big run in the moderate September Handicap.

The son of Selkirk was beaten a short head by Dapple Dawn at Bellewstown and Dapple Dawn subsequently won and finished second at Tralee.
