Bank on Bernabeuto finally come good

EDWARD O'GRADY has prospects of a double with Bernabeu and Querido at Tramore this evening.

Bernabeu, who has become mildly frustrating over jumps, is afforded a good opportunity in the AIB Maiden Hurdle. He went off a well-backed favourite at Wexford a week ago, but was no match for River Nurey, surrendering to the tune of seven lengths. The selection performed solidly enough, however, and only Share Option, runner-up behind Serve Time at Ballinrobe, appears a danger.

Querido can make a successful first venture into handicap company in the Richard Power Hurdle. This is a far stiffer test than the one he faced when taking a moderate maiden at Tipperary, but the four-year-old does hint at having a touch of class!
