Follow Dotty’s Daughter

ANNE DUFFIELD has enjoyed a successful season so far and is expected to be celebrating another winner with Dotty’s Daughter in the wbx.com – World Bet Exchange Selling Stakes at Bath.

The fact Mrs Duffield is prepared to make the long trip from Constable Burton - rather than aiming her filly at a similar contest closer to home – suggests connections are expecting the journey to prove worthwhile.

The filly is not the most straightforward but has also encountered more than her fair share of misfortune.

She was hampered when going well over five furlongs at Kempton earlier in the season and then lost out in a claimer at Thirsk when her jockey eased up with the race seemingly at her mercy.

Paul Fessey subsequently received a 28-day suspension for his indiscretion and since then the filly seems to have failed to handle faster ground.

She should appreciate easier going, and, with Seb Sanders booked for the ride, she is confidently expected to break her duck.

It has taken Spaceman a while to get the hang of things but he is related to a string of winners who were all late developers and he looks the one to beat in the wbx.com – World Bet Exchange Handicap.

His victory over one mile and three furlongs at Yarmouth last month suggests he is open to bags of improvement now he has learned what racing is all about.

Luca Cumani’s charge carries another 7lbs for that success but this event looks well within his compass.
