TONY MCCOY was reported to be “stable” by a hospital spokeswoman yesterday following an operation on his broken right wrist.

The champion jump jockey in Britain is recovering after surgery at University College Hospital in Galway following his tumble from the ill-fated Sporting Limerick at the second-last flight in the williamhill.ie Handicap Hurdle on Wednesday.

“I understand he’s had the operation and it went fine. I hope to speak to him later,” said McCoy’s personal assistant Gee Bradburne.
