On Tuesday evening a taxi driver charged a man €10 to get to Ballybrit. The passenger opened his brief case to reveal what the driver reckoned was akin to the trove in Aladdin’s cave.

“Fifty or 60 grand in rolled up notes,” the taxi driver said. “You know yourself when you have a thousand in your pocket you hold on to it tight but that amount of money and he didn’t seem to care.”
