George Washington poised for Goodwood return

GEORGE Washington could return to action later this month in the totesport Celebration Mile at Goodwood – despite the fact Kieren Fallon would not be available to ride.

The talented Danehill colt can prove a handful on the racecourse and has been ridden in all his seven starts by Fallon, who is currently banned from riding in Britain.

The brilliant winner of the Stan James 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in May was surprisingly beaten by Araafa on heavy ground in the Irish version three weeks later.
