Bluegrass Hill worth another chance
The Danehill gelding went off a heavily-backed odds-on favourite then, but ran no sort of race, finishing a remote 8th of ten behind Admiralofthefleet.
There was no apparent excuse for the performance either, with the selection subsequently reported to be post-race normal.
Prior to that, at Leopardstown, Bluegrass Hill made a very promising debut when a somewhat unlucky fourth behind He's A Decoy.
It's a contest which is working out nicely. He's A Decoy went on to to land a Listed event at Cork and Admiralofthefleet was actually 7th in that particular race. The Ballydoyle newcomer Theann, a filly by Rock Of Gibraltar, is the obvious worry.
Kieren Fallon, whose thoughts will surely be on his appeal at the HRA in London, which is due to start at 5pm, partners Theann. Whatever her fate, he has prospects of a first and last race double.
Fallon teams up with once-raced Flamingo Guitar for David Wachman in the Irish Stallion Farms' EBF Fillies Maiden and she is the choice. The daughter of Storm Cat made little show on her debut in a Newmarket back in April, but that came at a time when Wachman's charges were out of form. Savannah, a once-raced Ballydoyle son of Sadler's Wells, wasn't sighted on his only outing as a juvenile, but the fact connections have decided to persist influences one to nod in his direction for a very moderate looking www.tote.ie Maiden.
The progressive Amarjit, who beat Monahullan Prince, successful in the meantime, at Sligo is the one to beat in the Michael Higgins and Co. Handicap.
