Three lots jointly top sale
After some keen bidding he was knocked down to Sean Evans from Cumbria. Twilight Land had carded 29.13 when winning his pre sales trial.
Swift Leisure then snapped up Mrs Bridie Hughes (Innishannon) Hi Clyde for €3,000 after he had won his pre-sales trial in 29.17. Swift Leisure were again successful when they got Belindas Jet, who was sold off the bench, for €2,500 after the white and brindle had clocked 28.73 in his trial.
Fr Pat Lawton and Thomas O’Sullivan from Charlevile, Co. Cork also received €3,000 for their Greenfield Class. The black had recorded 29.09 when winning his trial by four lengths. Sean Evans was again the buyer here.
Wayne Fenwick from Newcastle picked up some choice lots. He outbid his rivals to get Patrick Fleming’s (Muckross, Killarney) Scartlea Cheeta, who had recorded the fastest time of the day when winning in 28.71, for €2,000 and then laid out €1,700 to get Johnny O’Connor’s (Upton) Nabucco.
There were three lots sold for €2,500. Miss Ashley Corkery’s (Grenagh) Saucy Skipper went to Scottish buyer Jim Ballintyne for that sum while Frank Culloty from Killarney received a similar amount from Pat Dalton for his College Charger. As already mentioned Belindas Jet went to the Swift Leisure for a similar sum.
