Indesacjack makes all to land Leger gamble

The son of Pacific Mile and Jasons Smokie adopted a very simple approach to the Leger final task. He flew out of trap four and led to the bend from Alimo and a tightly grouped field.
With crowding in behind Indesacjack eased into a five length lead as Coolboy George emerged as his main threat before halfway.
Noted for his finishing kick, Coolboy George really devoured the ground but Indesacjack wasn't conceding easily and he kept on bravely to hold Coolboy by half a length in 29.66. It was then 8 lengths to Pat Curtin's Smoking Again in third. Indesacjack, a lightly raced dog, had previously won the Kingdom Derby at Tralee last season and will now have the Champion Stakes and the Irish Derby on his schedule.
Owen McKenna, whose Alimo enjoyed no luck in running in the final, had compensation when Goldstar Premier won the Consolation St Leger.
He moved wide at the start from his inside draw and led into the bend from Gamble Flashing. Goldstar stayed on strongly to win by three and a half lengths in 29.83.
